'Korean Mariah Carey', 'The Highnote master that nobody can top'

These are modifiers of SoHyang who won several #1s in music competition show 'I Am A Singer'.
Recently, SoHyang made a debut as a novel writer as she published her web-novel 'Anaxion'.
She's having busy days to finish the manuscripts of next book.

Thought she's having an affair away from her original job, music, but it's not. Her long time dream is to be a movie creator.
She said her wish is to die after seeing her novels become movies.

She considered writing movie scenario but she wrote novel which is easier to try.
She once published her fantasy novel 'Crystal Castle' right after her appearance I Am A singer.

"While ago, I found the web-novel is attractive. I received an offer of writing a web novel with the story of Crystal Castle from one representative of a publishing house and I said ok quickly.

The story of 'Anaxion' begins as an ordinary girl realizes that she has an ability to foresee disasters.

'I want to question what heart we should have when we live in this irrational world.
Can we say that we're innocent just because we are not involved in bad things in person?
I think there is nothing that is not involved with us when it happens around us.
If you care about it with your mind, you will have a power to change the world."

SoHyang made her debut as a CCM singer when she was 20.
She had remarkable abilities in high note and musical technique but she played in small genre 'CCM', so she wasn't known very much to public people. but turning point came. It was I Am A Singer.

"I conceited like I was better than others in music. but I was like I saw new world as I appeared at IAAS.
I got to know about pop music, and I realized that I should sing from bottom of my heart.

I was singing on the stage and audiences were crying. They wanted the sound that sympathizes with their scars and hurts, not technique. It was experiences that I could look back why I should sing."

SoHyang also opened her heart "As I get greed(musically-'as I get higher standards of music'), I'm afraid of releasing albums."
She added "I felt like people don't like my music, so I considered quitting, but Everytime I did, many people around me encouraged me."

"I think the more I count how much I have archived, the smaller I feel, and it discourages me.
So I'm gonna focus how better I am getting. I want to deliver something warm to people thru my life."

SoHyang will have a concert with JK Kim Dongwook in New York in September.

The guitar girl, Jinjoo is SoHyang's sister-in-law and she grew up playing guitar with her sibling band POS.
Then she moved to America and she played the guitar for Jordin Sparks, Cee Lo Green, Ciara etc...
And she became a member of American Band DNCE.
The band became popular over the world With their cool music
And Jinjoo is inspiring a lot of girls who play guitar.

The band DNCE won the best new artist at MTV VMA 2016.

SoHyang sang Let It Go, the sound track of Disney Movie 'Frozen' for children in 2014.

The show was children song festival show that was broadcast on Children's Day.

I went and met her before and after the show and I could see her rehearsal, too.
(People there were amazed by her rehearsal, too)

Actually it was after she came back from America and she was a judge during the show so her condition wasn't perfect.
But she sounded really amazing. I loved how she looked with the blue dress and braided hair. just like Elsa!
Her shoes were blue, too!!! Lovely!!

I know it broadcast on KBS, but I was kinda upset to watch that because it reduced her resonance so bad.
i don't expect that much, but sometimes they don't express her real voice well enough.

I have my own fancam and MAYBE I'll share it someday.
My fancam's quality is not good at all, but at least it shows how resonant her voice sounded in the hall.

Actually I edited it a short clip and shared it for a couple of days.
But I removed it soon because I knew she wasn't satisfied by this performance.

Actually I was surprised that she wasn't happy about this performance.
I met her after the show, and she said she's not happy about it.
If fact, I couldn't believe this... Inside my heart I was like...
What? I saw that in person, how this woman can be unhappy about this amazing performance?
What more she thinks she could do? It was already perfect!

But she's SoHyang who is superb.....
So I think I should understand her expectation about herself.

No matter how she felt about it, soon it became an issue, and people said she's the best cover of the song 
and she is the 끝판왕 (The final boss means the final opponent of last episode of video game which is the strongest one).
She sounds really powerful and resonant(especially in person) but she sings so easy.

She's taking rest nowadays, but I think she will perform again, she has a concert to do in New York, and she will perform at one radio show, soon.

I was away form Korea for a while so I couldn't read her new novel Anaxion.
So far, I just finished only one book among 4 books that were published.
So I don't know the whole story yet.

but let me tell you a little..

Aileen, half-korean with redhead, is 17 years old girl and she is into History.
She's like a tomboy wearing white T-shirt and jeans.

And she got implicated in some issues and it makes her close with the most popular boy in the school, Bratt whom she never spoke to before.

They witness a mysterious murder together but they couldn't report this to the police because it was obvious that they would be the suspects of this murder that had no other clear evidences. 
They also got to know it was related to Anaxion, a book that was written by a korean young girl in Chosun Period. They tried to work on this unknown mysterious book and found Aileen is the key to this book.

And at the same time, polices were trying to solve the murder case and they found Aileen and Bratt are involved in this case somehow because they found a red hair at the place.

Very interesting book. There are some similar things with her former book Crystal Castle, because main characters have similar appearances and personalities. but the stories go so differently. I can't wait to read the rest of the books.

New track was released on 25th, July, 2016.

Hyoong-Bae(흉배) means Breastplate in Ephesians 6:14 and they are Hip-Hop CCM musicians.

One of them, Yang Dong-Geun(a.k.a YDG) is famous musician and actor and he is very close with SoHyang.
He has done a couple of tracks with SoHyang 'Hero' and '어떻게 내게(How Dare You)'.

and he also appeared at I Am A Singer when he gave her an opinion in the studio when she sang 'Never Ending Story'.

Now SoHyang featured their new track 'Paradise'.

This track is featured by her line 'Today, You will be with Me in paradise' from Luke 23:43.

It's one of 7 words of Jesus on the cross.
There were 2 sinners on crosses with Jesus, and one sinner mocked Jesus saying "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!"
Another sinner rebuked him and confessed that he is a sinner and asked mercy of Jesus saying 

"Don't you fear God, since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong. Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."

Then Jesus promised the salvation to this sinner saying "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

Actually, this track is full of religious words.

YDG enumerates names of God.

'보혜사(the Counselor), Jehovah, Adonai, Yahweh, Yeshua, Elohim.

There are words like 'Water 세례, 성령세례, 채찍세례(Baptism of water, Baptism of the Holy Spirit, Baptism of flogging)', '기름 부음 받은 자(Anointed One).

And they also speak some lines of the Apostles' Creed

죄를 사하여주시는 것과 몸이 다시 사는 것과 영원히 사는 것을 믿사옵니다.

(I Believe in the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.)

This sounds like a club track, but this is a very religious song.

SoHyang's powerful and cool voices are really amazing, too.

She told me she was suffering from pneumonia(I think she also said during the interview of Immortal Songs).

And on 25th, there will be released a new song that SoHyang featured.
It's called 'Paradise' and she worked with Rappers again.
She worked with YDG who worked together for a couple of tracks 'Hero', '어떻게 내게(How Dare You)'.
Last year, they shared a short clip that she was singing in the studio 'You'll be with me in Paradise'.
I think it's one of the 7 words of Jesus on the Cross.
So I think it's kinda CCM and he described the song as 'Retro', 'Summer Jam', 'Vacation Song', 'Club Music'.

By the way, Here Korea is really really hot and humid and it makes you exhausted.

SoHyang wrote a note to her fans to let know that her new fantasy novel 아낙사이온(Anaxion?) is released.
She also said she has been doing very well because of her fans' support and prayers.
Her new novel is released as digital format within hours and it will be different with her former novel Crystal Castle.
I've heard little things about her novel, I wonder what it will be really like.
Can't wait to read them!
